Inequality, poverty, unequal status of women, stigma against people living with HIV, and cultural myths about sex contribute to an explosive epidemic in Asia/Oceania. Strong national leadership and commitment to fighting the disease are among the most important factors required to slow down the spread of the HIV/AIDS epidemic. The best way to combat AIDS is to create awareness, and this can be done by holding more scientific seminars to educate the physicians and the masses at large.

Over half of the world's population is Asia 's, many still in the brink of illiteracy and ignorance. With this predicament, the Asian federation is determined in fighting myths and misconceptions and imparting advances in sexual health concerns. The main aim of AOFS is to promote healthy sexual awareness campaign against the growing impediment of HIV/AIDS and also educate the medical and para-medical fraternity members on various other related topics on sexual health.
